[full paper]

The subject of this article is to bring the problem analysis of vehicle communication through diagnostic interface OBDII with diagnostic tools used in automotive diagnostics with an emphasis on Bluetooth communication. Based on the analysis, this paper deals with the description of software design and its implementation to mobile devices on purpose of communication with CAN OBDII interface. For this type of communication is usually used diagnostically-oriented communication processor ELM 327. Aim of this solution is to bring an application provided for mobile devices with Android operating system, which can obtain real time data from engine control unit through ELM 327.

Reflecting RTOS Model During WCET Timing Analysis: MSP430/Freertos Case Study [full paper]

The determination of the execution time upper bound, commonly called Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET), is a necessary step in the development and validation process for real-time systems. The WCET analysis techniques can be classified as static or dynamic. While a high-level language code suffices for the static techniques, for a precise WCET analysis a target architecture or its authentic simulator able to run the final machine-level code of an analyzed application is needed by the dynamic techniques. In the paper, we have decided not only to present a novel hybrid timing analysis technique, but also to show its practical applicability in the area of WCET analysis over particular embedded architecture (MSP430) and real-time operating system (FreeRTOS). Novelty of the presented method can be seen in the fact the operating system model is reflected during the analysis in order to facilitate the process of derivating schedulability test formulas, create detail task/stack analysis etc. Applicability of the method was tested using the MSPsim simulator of the MSP430 architecture.

Current Summary of the Practical Using of Optical Correlators [full paper]

Optical Computing has long been a reportable as the solution of real - time high resolution data processing. Optical processing uses the fastest medium (light) to same calculations as serial electronic systems so process time of these calculations is shorter. The best results in data processing can be obtained by using hybrid, digital – optical, processors as a Optical Correlators which use speed of light (optical part) in cooperation with the electronic components, (digital part). Optical Correlator is optical device to compare two images or two – dimensional data in real time. There are two main types of Optical Correlators, Match Filter and Joint Transform Correlator. In this paper are described both types of correlators and there are shown examples of realized Optical Correlators. Optical Correlators use Optical Fourier Transform to produce transformed image from input image and then second Fourier Transform to obtained correlations in correlation plane. Optical Fourier Transform vs. Fast Fourier Transform process time comparison will be discussed. Main components of Optical Correlators will be presented. Optical Correlators thanks its fast process time and recent advances in liquid crystal technology become more commercially available. Potential applications of these optical processors will be also presented and discussed.

Semantic Support for Educational IT Services [full paper]

Technology enhanced learning is one of the intensively researched domains, because it promises interesting contribution to modern educational processes at various levels, in particular in higher education. This paper presents our approach to design and implementation of semantic structures that are capable to support selected educational processes, e.g. in mathematical and computer science disciplines. The methodology for collaborative ontology development, applied on the analyzed domain of eleven courses, is proposed as a generic approach that can be potentially reused and adapted to create semantic models of other domains (courses, disciplines) for semantically supported technology enhanced learning applications. The resulting structure of developed ontologies is presented as a basis for constructing semantically enhanced electronic services that can be further orchestrated and integrated into complex educational processes. This approach may provide powerful means to educators at universities, namely for (semi- )automated preparation, running, and maintenance of their courses. Added semantics, by enabling an integration of learning services into specified educational processes, is capable to minimize the efforts of educators when preparing and running a new lecture or course, as well as to effectively analyze the whole process and the students’ performance.

Retrieving Data from Public Social Networks Based on Scale-Free Characteristic [full paper]

This paper deals with retrieving data and data analysis of online social networks. We show an easy and universal approach to retrieve data and relations from any just partially public online social network. We explain the assumptions under which this approach works and we verify it on a practical example of online social network Pokec which has been popular in Slovakia for more than 10 years. We show some statistics and analysis of this online social network and the way how can be collected data abused. We recommended in this paper some operations and procedures for providers and for users to prevent or reduce this kind of security problems.

1-Wire - The Technology for Sensor Networks [full paper]

In this epoch, automation in different area of human life is obvious. Home automation or intelligent building is part of this phenomenon. Sensor networks are important parts of intelligent buildings or other rooms. Between more solutions of sensor network, 1 Wire® technology can be a good choice for home automation because of small requirements for wires, power supply, components dimensions and simple controlling. In this review article, the basic specifications and specialities of 1-Wire technology as well as some our experience with this type of sensor network are described.

Robustness of Interval Toeplitz Matrices in Fuzzy Algebra [full paper]

Fuzzy algebra is an algebraic structure in which classical addition and multiplication are replaced by and , where ab = maxfa;bg; a b = minfa;bg. Fuzzy discrete dynamic systems can be introduced by fuzzy matrices and are useful for describing knowledge engineering, scheduling, cluster analysis, fuzzy logic programs, diagnosis of technical devices or medical diagnosis. The paper deals with robust matrices over fuzzy algebra. There are defined the terms of the possible and universal robustness of interval matrices. The work describes the necessary and sufficient condition for the possible and universal robustness of interval Toeplitz matrices which satisfy a certain condition, called the condition C .

Performance Improvement in Vector Controlled Induction Motor Drive by Combining the Principle of Hybrid PWM and ANFIS [full paper]

The complexity involved in the designing of a conventional PI type speed controller for an induction motor is replaced by fuzzy logic controller, synthesized by adaptive neural fuzzy interference system (ANFIS) method. This paper presents a hybrid pulse width modulation (HPWM) algorithm to reduce the steady state ripple in current. The conventional space vector pulse width modulation (CSVPWM) method with equal division of zero state time is modified. To avoid the complex coordinate transformations, trigonometric calculations and sector identification involved in CSVPWM, the concept of imaginary switching times is utilized. The proposed PWM algorithm is designed based on the notion of stator flux ripple. Modulation index and duty cycle dependent expression for rms value of the stator flux over a sampling interval is calculated. Moreover, the rms flux ripple characteristics are graphically illustrated, from which the proposed hybrid PWM algorithm is developed. To validate the proposed algorithm, simulation studies have been carried out and compared with PI controller based vector control of induction motor.

Simple and Novel Hybrid Random PWM Algorithm for DTC-Induction Motor Drive for Reduced Acoustical Noise [full paper]

A simple and novel hybrid random PWM algorithm for direct torque controlled induction motor drive for reduced acoustical noise and harmonic distortion is presented in this paper to reduce the complexity of the classical space vector approach. The proposed algorithm is developed by using the imaginary switching times, which does not require angle and sector information. In order to get the randomization effect, the proposed algorithm uses discontinuous pulsewidth modulation maximum (DPWMMAX) algorithm in conjunction with the space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) algorithm. The harmonic analysis of the two switching sequences is carried out and by comparing each other in each sampling time interval, the proposed algorithm selects a suitable switching sequence. In the proposed algorithm by changing the factor  , the switching sequences of SVPWM and DPWMMAX algorithms are generated. The proposed PWM algorithm uses 0127 and 721 sequences when  value takes 0.5 and 0 respectively. As the zero state time is varied randomly according to the operating sequence, randomization effect will occur, which results in reduced dominating harmonics and hence gives reduced acoustical noise. To validate the proposed PWM algorithm, the numerical simulation studies have been carried out and results are presented and compared. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
